It is always exciting when one of your children achieves a major accomplishment. For me, our eldest son Christopher’s graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point was an overwhelming experience. Watching my husband pin our second son Benjamin at his graduation from the United States Border Patrol Academy was another major experience. Now, we will have the opportunity to attend our son Alexander’s first major art show-a show that he is curating in Buffalo, New York, opening on July 11, 2008.
Alex held an art show in New York City before graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005, and another art show for his Master’s Degree at University at Buffalo in 2007. He earned Best of Show at a members only art show at Big Orbit Gallery earlier this year.
This art show is different, at least for me. Alex is curating this showing of fifteen artists - from all over the country and one from Ireland. Two of his former professors are contributing to this show. I couldn’t be more proud of him. I want to tell the world; he wants to keep it low-key. I think I am compromising by entering the website in my blog and not sending out the press release he nixed!
So here is a link to the details, and if you are in Buffalo during that time, please check out Comfort, Burn: http://www.bigorbitgallery.org/bigorbit/allofthemfuture.html
